In this afternoon of reflection, we will acknowledge we live in an extraordinary moment on Earth, even as we witness the destruction of ecological, biological and social systems.  Urgent issues tug at our consciences and consciousness, even as we struggle with a global pandemic.  We hear the call to address the critical concern of the Sisters of Mercy: “we work toward the sustainability of all life by caring for Earth’s ecosystems, addressing global climate change, and advocating for the fundamental right to clean water.”  We can feel overwhelmed by anger, fear and other difficult emotions. How can we remain resilient, creative and empowered to act for the healing of our irreplaceable world?

Learn ways to face these challenges, build community and help build a life-sustaining society through the spiral of Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects:

  • Practices in love and gratitude
  • Acknowledgement of our pain for the world
  • Sources of hope and insight
  • Commitment to change, healing and action
  • Tools to take into your life

If you are looking to re-ignite a sense of hope, care, passion and purpose to be able to respond to issues of concern in your community and our planet, we welcome you to this afternoon of interactive and reflective practices and conversation.
