Knit, Crochet & Women's Wisdom: January-March 2026

Cranaleith Spiritual Center is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy, a religious congregation of women who were founded out of a deep concern for the needs of people who experience poverty. Our Knit, Crochet, Women’s Wisdom group works to alleviate some of the wounds found in the critical concerns of the Sisters of Mercy:  Earth, Women, Immigration, Nonviolence, and Racism.

We love to crochet and knit; and we motivate and inspire each other and share our stories. We start each meeting with a reflection on a spiritual reading. Along with honing our creative skills and deepening our spiritual growth, our mission is to care for people living in all forms of poverty through our crocheting and knitting. For women and children living in poverty a handmade item is not just a hat or scarf or a blanket, but it’s protection, warmth and a promise of support for a better future. We collaborate with like-minded organizations such as homeless shelters, immigration centers, transitional housing centers, and Beds for Kids.

We welcome new, learning and established knitters and crocheters.  We are also supported by knitters and crocheters in the community (as far away as New York) who cannot attend the meetings.

We invite you to join our group!  Skills/instruction are shared, and fun had by all.  All skill levels are welcome.

This program takes place on the first and third Tuesdays at Cranaleith from 1:00- 2:30p.m. Your registration gives you access to as many of the sessions as you wish between January 6 and March 18, 2026.
